Education Committee

NENTOA’s Education Committee is focused on three main topics: Safety, Systems, and Seamanship

SYSTEMS – Nordic Tug owners have a long DIY tradition.  Also, new owners transitioning from sail or other power boats can always use helpful hints and formal training to keep boat systems working at peak condition.

The SAFETY Committee is mindful and attuned to the latest developments and best practices related to safe boating and, in conjunction with the other Committees, finds the best, most practical and widespread means of sharing that information with the membership.   The Safety Committee runs regular seminars including hands-on activities during the Annual Rendezvous and, where able, looks for involvement of outside “experts” in the field to share experiences and provide training accordingly.

SEAMANSHIP is the fun part of being a boater.  The rules of the road and the rules of common sense always prevail, and this is an area where ALL members can share experiences for the betterment (education) of the collective group.
