Raw Water Pump Bolt Removal Using a Crowfoot

On our 6BT5.9M there is one bolt on the impeller housing for the raw water pump that is extremely awkward to reach for removal. The solution was a “crowfoot” of the proper mcc_11mmcrowfootsize. If you said, “What’s a crowfoot?” you are forgiven but look at the picture and get to know these useful tools.

For my water pump, the correct size is 11MM and costs $6.99 at Sears. The square hole on the crowfoot fits on a 3/8 inch drive extension allowing the crowfoot to be turned with a ratchet drive.
