It’s easy to lose something through the large scuppers on the 37. We thought it would be a good idea to have some kind of drain guard.
The end pieces are made of scrap Corian. They had to be custom-fit as the taper and corner radiuses on the fiberglass scuppers vary a bit. The wood dowel is 3/8″ O.D. and the hard plastic tubing (PVC pipe) is 3.8″ I.D. by 1/2″ O.D. I used Forstner bits to create flat-bottomed holes in the 1/2″ thick corian.
Insert the dowel inside the white PVC pipe and attach the ends. Set the finished assembly low enough in the scupper so that the screen (gutter guard) is slightly below the level of he adjacent channel. They serve their purpose well and are easily removed.
